Student Direct Stream (SDS) – check to see if you are eligible to take a faster route to obtain a study permit

The Student Direct Stream (SDS) is an expedited study permit processing program for those applying to study in Canada at a post-secondary designated learning institution (DLI). Only applications submitted electronically are eligible for SDS processing, and IRCC usually processes most SDS applications within 20 calendar days if the eligibility requirements are met. The Canadian government will begin processing your application once you have submitted your biometrics and shown that you meet all eligibility requirements. Therefore, eligible international students can get their study permits much faster by going through the SDS.

Currently, the SDS is available to legal residents living in one of the following countries:

·         Antigua and Barbuda

·         Brazil

·         China

·         Colombia

·         Costa Rica

·         India

·         Morocco

·         Pakistan

·         Peru

·         Philippines

·         Senegal

·         Saint Vincent and the Grenadines

·         Trinidad and Tobago

·         Vietnam
